To solve the problem of a conventional cam limit output device that detection of a rotation speed is delayed and control accuracy at start-up is degraded, because a rotation angle for a relatively long time is accumulated in a memory part so as to reduce variations in the rotation speed which is used for an automatic advance.
The cam limit output device is provided with memory parts: a first memory part 5A for accumulating the rotation angle 5a for a first prescribed time and a second memory part 5B for accumulating the rotation angle 5b for a second prescribed time longer than the first. The automatic advance is performed on the basis of a first rotation speed 6a determined from the rotation angle 5a for a prescribed period after detecting the start of rotation of a shaft 2, and on the basis of a second rotation speed 6b determined from the rotation angle 5b after the prescribed period.
