PURPOSE: To provide a camera which can use a plurality of films selectively by using a new film cassette which has a film advance spool capable of both feeding and rewinding the films by being driven and rotated in opposite directions and a portion for recording information about photographic frames onto the films.

CONSTITUTION: This camera is provided with a plurality of storage chambers for film cassettes 11, each of the film cassette storage chambers 22, 23 being communicated with a common film take-up chamber 25 via a common film passage leading to a photographic opening; is provided with a driving mechanism for driving a film advance spool in opposite directions; and has a film information reading means for reading photographic frame information from films 12 leading to the film passage 24; a film selection means for selecting either of the films in the plurality of film cassette storage chambers 22, 23; and a control means for controlling the driving system of each film cassette storage chamber 22, 23 according to information about the film selected by the film selection means and the photographic frame information from the film information reading means.
