PURPOSE: To enable a photographer to easily enter in a picture together by operating a self-timer operation element to repeatedly light and extinguish a display part and lighting the display part at the time of starting photographing and extinguishing the display part to return a camera to the camera recording stand-by state when a prescribed time elapses after the start.
CONSTITUTION: The total time from the start of supply of a repeat signal to a display part 2 is calculated; and when this calculated time reaches a second prescribed time longer than a first prescribed time, a lighting signal is supplied to the display part 2 to light the display part 2, and an operation signal is supplied to a VTR part 20 and the camera recording stand-by state is released to start recording. The time from the start of recording is calculated; and when this calculated time reaches a third prescribed time longer than the first prescribed time, supply of the lighting signal to the display part 2 is stopped to extinguish the display part 2, and supply of the operation signal to the VTR part 20 is stopped to return the camera to the camera recording stand-by state. Thus, the photographer which cannot enter in the picture in conventional methods enters in the picture together.
