To provide a car washing machine capable of detecting the position of an equipment article in the vehicle width direction of a vehicle to be washed even if the article has any color.
A white and black stripe pattern 6 is formed on a floor 2 forming an intrusion passage 5 of a vehicle 4 to be washed into a car washing machine body 1, and a camera device 12 capable of photographing a rear part of the vehicle 4 to be washed and the stripe pattern 6 from an oblique upper side is provided on the car washing machine body 1. A shutter speed of the camera device 12 in which difference of lightness of the pattern of a black portion and the pattern of a white portion becomes large is determined in an image of the stripe pattern 6 photographed by the camera device 12 in such a state that the car washing machine 1 is stopped. The image of the rear part of the vehicle 4 to be washed and the stripe pattern 6 photographed in such a state that the car washing machine body 1 is moved by a constant distance is differentiated from the image of the rear part of the vehicle 4 to be washed and the stripe pattern 6 photographed at the determined shutter speed. The stripe pattern 6 of the floor 2 is erased to detect the equipment article arranged at the rear part of the vehicle 4 to be washed from the remained image of the rear part of the vehicle 4 to be washed.
