Abstract:

To provide Si-C-SiC/C-SiC base carbon fiber composite material by dispersing a carbon fiber, which is able to apply to various uses such as electrical material for a resistance heating unit, etc., polishing material, industrial furnace material for an iron manufacture, etc., a member for a semiconductor diffusion furnace, or a member appliable to all kinds of uses as a material maintaining this characteristics, and a manufacturing method for obtaining a compact with various diameters, length, thickness and forms.

The carbon fiber composite material is characterized in that after forming a carbon fiber rod with the carbon fiber or making a carbon fiber hollow tube with carbon fiber, crushed silicon or powdery silicon is applied to the carbon fiber rod or on internal wall of the carbon fiber hollow tube, and the carbon fiber rod or the carbon fiber hollow tube is sintered. The SiC-SiC carbon fiber composite material is composed of silicon phase, silicon carbide phase and carbon fiber, and the carbon fiber is dispersively formed in the silicon phase or the carbon fiber with coating layer of silicon carbide is dispersively formed.
