To provide a carbonization-processing method carbonizing a substance to be processed at an extremely good energy efficiency and at a stable state.
A substance containing moisture is introduced in a drying oven at a front portion of a carbonization apparatus and is heat-dried while being conveyed continuously through the drying oven. The dried substance is fed to a carbonization oven at a rear portion of the apparatus while vapor generated by heat-drying is exhausted from the drying oven. The carbonization oven is kept oxygen-free substantially, and is heated by indirect burning as a processing start condition. The burning is stopped when a temperature in the carbonization oven rose to a temperature over a self-ignition temperature of the dried substance. The temperature in the carbonization oven is kept at a range of a prescribed temperature over the self-ignition temperature due to an exothermic heat by self-combustion at an oxygen-free state. The carbonization-processing method comprises carbonizing the dried substance continuously using the above process.
