Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for converting efficiently aromatic hydrocarbon in an aromatic hydrocarbon containing raw material and also provide an aromatic conversion process using the catalyst. SOLUTION: The secondary particle diameter of zeolite in a catalyst molding body of an aromatic hydrocarbon conversion catalyst composition is 10 micron or smaller. In the aromatic hydrocarbon conversion process, the catalyst is brought into contact with an aromatic hydrocarbon containing raw material to convert an aromatic compound efficiently It is preferable that zeolite contains mordenite, an inorganic oxide and/or clays and rhenium. The inorganic oxide is selected out of a group of alumina, silica alumina, silica, titania and magnesia.
