Title:
CATALYST TO REMOVE NITROGEN OXIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3389005
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a solid type honeycomb catalyst for the removal of nitrogen oxides after used, by using a used solid type catalyst for the removal of nitrogen oxide as a lower layer and then applying a new TiO2-WO3-V2O5 ternary or TiO2-WO3 binary catalyst powder to specified thickness to form a two-layer structure.
SOLUTION: This catalyst is used for the contact reduction and removal of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas by adding ammonia to the exhaust gas. The catalyst has a two layer structure. The lower layer of the structure consists of a used solid-type honeycomb catalyst as formed which is not useful anymore because removing performance for nitrogen oxides decreases, and as an upper layer, a new TiO2-WO3-V2O5 ternary or TiO2-WO3 binary catalyst powder is applied to 100 to 250μm thickness. The compsn. of the new catalyst powder consists of 0 to 10wt.% of V2O5, 5 to 20wt.% WO3, and the balance TiO2.
