PURPOSE: To increase light reflectance at a light reflecting layer and improve the brightness of a cathode-ray tube by improving the shape and surface condition of particles constituting the light reflecting layer.
CONSTITUTION: In a cathode-ray tube where a light reflecting layer 4 is formed on a light absorption layer 3 made of carbon to divide a stripe of a phosphor layer 2 laid on the internal side of a cathode-ray tube panel 1, and there is a phosphor screen with a metal back layer 5 of aluminum laid on a whole surface including the layers 2 and 4, this layer 4 is formed by mixing reflecting particles 8 having a metal reflective film 7 formed on the surface of glass balls of a grain size between 1μm and 10μm, and white reflecting materials 9 comprising TiO2. In this case, the metal reflective film 7 on the glass balls 6 may be formed, for example, with a Cr, Ni, Fe or Al layer through an electroless plating process.
