Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an extremely smooth oxide film (ceramic film) with high strength on a substrate not only of an Al-based metal but also of an Mg-based metal and a Ti-based metal, by using a plasma electrolytic technique.
SOLUTION: The method employs an energizing pattern having an alternating pulse mode in which one of a positively-polarized anode-type pulse mode and one of a negatively-polarized cathode-type pulse mode alternately appear before or after one or more of the anode-type pulse mode or one or more of the cathode type pulse mode; and of which the waveform is a deformed sinusoidal waveform in which a peak position of the current waveform is deviated from a central position of the pulse.
