Abstract:

PURPOSE: To apply rigid pavement having uniform water permeability by laying a mixture of the aggregate of a globular calcined material consisting of the mixture of KIBUSHI clay and clay feldspar and an adhesive.

CONSTITUTION: The argil 1 obtained by mixing KIBUSHI clay and clay feldspar is charged, for example, in a drum mixer 2, mixed, then charged in a water tank 3, and agitated to remove impurities. The obtained silty mud water is deaerated by an extruder or a vacuum draining machine into a specified shape, the water content is adjusted, and then the material is granulated by a granulator 9 or chamfered and faced up. The globular material 10 thus obtained is calcined at a high temp. to obtain a globular calcined material 13. An adhesive of epoxy and polyester resins, etc., is mixed into the material 13, and the mixture is laid in specified thickness. A ceramic material consisting at least of quartzite, feldspar, and KIBUSHI clay can be used instead of the argil 1.
