Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder useful for preparing a multi-layer material containing up to about 40 wt.% of a recycled material generated from manufacturing scrap and/or unacceptable storage tanks, especially for preparing gasoline storage tanks.
SOLUTION: A binder contains (A) a mixture of at least one high-density polyethylene (A1) and at least one ethylene copolymer (A2), wherein the mixture of A1 and A2 is co-grafted with a monomer such as an unsaturated carboxylic acid, its anhydride or its derivative and the co-grafted mixture (A) has an MI10/MI2 ratio (wherein MI10 is a melt index under a load of 10 kg at 190°C and MI2 is a melt index under a load of 2.16 kg at 190°C) higher than 18.5.
