To provide a coal drying method in a pulverized coal production facility in which the temperature of a hot wind producer can be increased from the early stage of combustion to result in sufficient drying of the coal.
In the pulverized coal production facility, the temperature of an inert gas is increased in a hot wind producer 1; coal in a coal mill 5 is dried with the inert gas the temperature of which has been increased, and the coal is ground in the coal mill 5 to produce a pulverized coal; the pulverized coal produced is collected on a collection filter 6; and the pulverized coal collected is recovered in a pulverized coal tank 9. A part of the pulverized coal recovered in the pulverized coal tank 9 is used as fuel for increasing the temperature of the inert gas in the hot wind producer 1, thereby allowing combustion of pulverized coal having high temperature and extremely low humidity at a high temperature from the early stage of combustion and increase in the temperature of the hot wind producer from the early stage of combustion to sufficiently dry the coal.
