Abstract:

To provide a polytriazine terephthalamide having a nano-order honeycomb ring structure, and a method for producing the same.

The polytriazine terephthalamide is formed on the basis of a specific repeating structure in which a triazine structure and a benzene ring structure are coupled with an amide bond. The amount of a terminal amino group is 1.5 mEq/g or less, preferably 1 mEq/g or less, more preferably 0.5 mEq/g or less. The polytriazine terephthalamide is obtained by allowing melamine to react with polyalkylene terephthalate in a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent or an aprotic polar solvent in the presence of a carboxylic acid activator. The polytriazine terephthalamide is obtained by setting the ratio by mole of polyalkylene terephthalate to melamine to 1.3:1 to 1.7:1.
