Abstract:
To provide a coated optical fiber etc. having a small increase in loss even when bending force is applied thereto.SOLUTION: A glass fiber composed of a core 17 and a cladding 19 is disposed at a center of a coated optical fiber 3. A resin-made primary 21 is disposed on an outer periphery of the glass fiber, and a resin-made secondary 23 is disposed on an outer periphery of the primary. The coated optical fiber is configured such that a colored layer 27 is disposed on an outermost periphery of an optical fiber strand 25. A Young's modulus of the colored layer is preferably 800 MPa or more when a thickness of the colored layer of the coated optical fiber is 5 μm or more. Furthermore, a Young's modulus of the colored layer may be 650 MPa or more when a thickness of the colored layer of the coated optical fiber is 7 μm or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
