A left eye perception color conversion section 401 converts a color of a piece of image data for a left eye into a perception color for the left eye, and a right eye perception color conversion section 402 converts a color of a piece of image data for a right eye into a perception color for the right eye on the basis of the visual characteristics of the right and left eyes of the viewer. A right/left correction amount determination section 403 calculates a correction amount for the left eye and a correction amount for the right eye on the basis of at least either one of the perception color for the left eye and the perception color for the right eye. A left signal correction section 404 corrects the image data for the left eye on the basis of the correction amount for the left eye, and a right signal correction section 405 corrects the image data for the right eye on the basis of the correction amount for the right eye.
