Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact color wheel which improves the space activity in the optical arrangement of a video projector by adhering color filters which selectively exist on an optical route by rotating the same in such a manner that the light from a light source is passed by a specific wavelength to the cylindrical body part of a funnel shape. SOLUTION: This color wheel includes a wheel member 210 consisting of the color filters 213 of R, G and B colors and a drive motor 220 for rotating the wheel member 210. The wheel member 210 consists of a supporting part 212 of a cylindrical shape accepting and supporting the drive motor 220 and the cylindrical body part 211 adhered with the color filters 213. The cylindrical body part 211 is formed to the funnel shape extended to be extended successively from the supporting part 212. The supporting part 212 accepts the drive motor 220, is connected to its output shaft 221 and is preferably formed of a metallic material. The cylindrical body part 211 consists of glass or transparent acryl and the color filters 213 are adhered thereto.
