PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict a variation of temperature of fed-out hot water in a combustion equipment having a capability changing-over type burner caused by a rapid variation in decreasing of an operating amount when a lower side characteristic data is changed over to an upper side characteristic data when a burner combustion is started. SOLUTION: A point ignition segment position SS is arranged between igniting positions E1, E2 on characteristic data L1, L2. In the case that a requisite combustion calory SF calculated just before combustion at a burner is not leso than an ignition position SS (SF≥SS), the ignition of the burner is carried out at the igniting position E2, and it has a relation of SF<SS, an ignition of the burner is carried out at the igniting position E1. Even if a higher combustion calory than the requisite combustion calory SF is required in order to increase a temperature of fed-out hot water just after ignition of the burner, the changing-over to the upper side characteristic data is not carried out, no rapid variation of decreasing of an operating amount is found and then a rapid variation of hot water temperature at the time of starting the combustion at the burner can be restricted.
