To provide a coming in/out detection device capable of automatically determining coming in/out of an article by one tag reading device.
A bar code tag 2 is added to a right side face for the direction of moving of a conveyance machine 1. A bar code tag reading device 3 is arranged on a side face 4a existent on the right side when the conveyance machine 1 moves from the left side to the right side in the drawing among side faces of a travel path 4. When the conveyance machine 1 passes the travel path 4, the reading device 3 reads information written on the bar code tag 2 to detect passing of the conveyance machine 1 while the right side face for the direction of moving is directed toward a side face 4a on which the reading device 3 is arranged. If the conveyance machine 1 is used by pressing a handle 1a in principle, the conveyance machine 1 moves by directing the right side face for the direction of moving toward the reading device 3 only when the conveyance machine 1 moves from the left side to the right side in the drawing. If the left side in the drawing is outside a warehouse, this moving is determined as coming in.
