Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an operation for setting the type of communication at the time of transmission by discriminating to which communication line among the plural communication lines the transmission destination information corresponds.
SOLUTION: When an operation part 13 inputs a dial number at the time of transmission, transmission destination information corresponding to the number is read from EEPROM 6 and checks whether it is a telephone number or a mail address. When it is the telephone number, the dial pulse of the telephone number is transmitted to the telephone line 21 and modem 4 modulates transmitted picture data which is read by a read part 11 and is encoded by a CODEC 8 so as to transmit it to the telephone line 21. When connection with the transmission destination is not realized, the mail address corresponding to the telephone number is checked to be registered in EEPROM 6 or not. When it is registered, the main address is transmitted to LAN 33 and transmitted picture data which is read by the read part 11 is converted into character data and it is transmitted to LAN 22.
