To raise adhesiveness between a decoration layer and a base body, and enhance a yield of material for products expressing an appearance similar to real stone by disposing an uncured or semicured synthetic resin composition on the surface of a base body, and forming a synthetic resin decoration layer through compression molding.
A synthetic resin composition is disposed on the surface of a base material before compression molding for formation of a synthetic resin decoration layer on the surface of the base body. That is, a synthetic resin composition with a granular substance not to melt or hard to melt dispersed in a synthetic resin matrix, in particular, in a thermosetting resin matrix is placed on the surface of the base body in order to have a synthetic resin decoration layer formed through compression molding. In addition, an uncured or semicured synthetic resin composition is arranged on the surface of the base body so as to form a synthetic resin decoration layer by compression molding. For such thermosetting resin, there are given preferably unsaturated polyester resin, acrylic resin having an unsaturation group, or unsaturated vinyl ester resin.
