Abstract:

To provide a composite material which achieves an excellent cycle characteristic while maintaining a high discharge capacity even in the condition that charge and discharge are repeated, and an excellent charge and discharge efficiencies in an early stage of cycles when used in a lithium ion secondary battery.

The composite material comprises: particles each having a solid phase A primarily including Si, and a solid phase B including an intermetallic compound of Si and at least one selected from Cr and Ti; a carbon material; and a metal oxide.
