Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide heat insulating properties, a weatherability, a resistance to radiation, and other characteristics as well as soundproof characteristics, such as sound insulation properties and sound absorption properties, by laminating a resin layer made of a silicone foam on one surface of a flexible metallic material layer or expanded graphite sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A composite material 1 is formed by laminating a resin layer 2 made of a silicone foam on one surface of a flexible metallic material layer or expanded graphite sheet 3. As the silicone foam forming the resin layer 2, a foam obtained by adding a foaming agent in the process of producing a silicone rubber, a foam obtained by liberating hydrogen in the condensation reaction of a silicone rubber composition, and the like are preferably used. A vulcanizing agent and a foaming agent are added to a material of a silicone rubber and mixed by a two-roll mill or other mixer at a temperature range not higher than the kick-off temperature of the vulcanizing agent. The mixed material is extruded from an extruder and heated for a predetermined time to be formed as a foam.
