Title:
COMPRESSED INFORMATION STORAGE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3859815
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a compressed information storage device reduced in capacity of a buffer memory, low in cost and high in earthquake-proof performance even when a disk device becomes a storage impossible state due to vibration, impact, and the like.
SOLUTION: This storage device is provided with a compressing circuit 1 compressing digital information from a camera section 8 and generating compressed information, a buffer memory 2 storing temporarily compressed information, a disk device 4 storing compressed information from the buffer memory 2 with a faster rate than a rate stored in the buffer memory 2, and a system controller 5 detecting a recording impossible state of the disk device 4 and making a compression rate of a compressing circuit large. Thereby, when the storage device is in a storage impossible state, as a compression rate of information quantity is made high, storage capacity of a temporary storage means can be made small, consequently a device low in cost and high in earthquake-proof performance can be realized.
