Title:
CONDUCTIVE INORGANIC HARDENED BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03174342
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To give good conductivity to an inorg. hardened body at a low cost with a little amt. of additive and to obtain a conductive inorg. hardened body useful for such a structural material or a heating element which require antistatic property incorporating carbon whiskers produced by vapor phase method into the inorg. hardened body.

CONSTITUTION: Carbon whiskers are produced by a vapor phase method that, for example, carbon source gas such as methane, acetylene, etc., and catalyst gas such as ferrocene, iron acetylacetane, etc., are carried by a carrier gas and heated at high temp. The obtd. carbon whiskers are used with inorg. hardening particles such as cement, lime, calcium silicate, and quartzite to produce a conducting inorg. hardened body by premixing method, sheet manufacturing method, extrusion molding, etc. The obtd. inorg. hardened body has ≤107Ω.cm volume resistivity. Moreover, the electric resistance can be easily varied according to the purpose of use by controlling the amt. of whiskers to be incorporated.
