Abstract:
PURPOSE:To maximize the data read margin by recording constant setting information of a read circuit on a servo face together with servo information and reading this constant setting information in the middle of and after the head positioning control to set the constant of the read circuit. CONSTITUTION:Constant setting information 2 of the read circuit is subjected to write/read test at the time of producing a disk device, and the obtained optimum constant of the read circuit is written in plural positions of each track together with servo information 3 by a servo track writer. This servo information 3 is used to control positioning of the head, and data recorded on the data face of the disk is read out by the read circuit to which the constant to extend the read margin is set. Constant setting information 2 recorded in each track on the servo face is read, and this information is used to set the constant of the read circuit in the middle of and after head positioning control. Thus, the variance in reproduced waveform or noise among devices or cylinders is corrected to always maximize the read margin.
