Title:
TAPE GUIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3202143
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To constitute a tape guide which comes into contact with a tape while the tape is run in the length direction in a state where the tape is slid on the guide and controls the running position of the tape in such a way that the guide can be manufactured at a low cost, has an excellent wear resistance, and does not damage the tape.
CONSTITUTION: Thin film layers having wear resistances and lubricating abilities are formed on the surfaces of at least control sections 5a and 5b of a tape guide 4 which comes into contact with a tape while the tape is slid on the sections 5a and 5b. Because of the thin film layers, not only the wear resistance of the guide 4 can be improved, but also the damage of the tape can be prevented by reducing the sliding resistance of the guide 4 when the tape is run. In addition, the main body of the guide 4 can be formed of an inexpensive plastic, because it is not required to take the wear resistance and lubricating ability of the main body into consideration. It is preferable, in addition, to form the thin film layers of a conductive material. The most suitable thin film layers are composite plated layers.
