Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase driving torque and to attain a favorable accelerating condition by using the target rotating speed for transition time different from that for the steady time when acceleration is not sufficient, and the value of parameter related to a driver's demand for acceleration is larger than a reference value. CONSTITUTION:During operation of an engine, in CPU not shown, a value of parameter related to a driver's demand for acceleration is detected, for example, a throttle opening theta is detected by a throttle opening sensor 52. A reference value theta0 for the throttle opening theta is set as a function of a car velocity. Subsequently, while an acceleration pedal 50 is stepped into largely, if theta>theta0 continues more than designated time, the target rotating speed for transition time is selected as the target engine rotating speed instead of the target rotating speed for steady time. According to the thus selected target rotating speed, a flow control valve 38 is controlled, and an escape valve 32 is controlled to adjust line pressure Pl to the minimum value for avoiding a slip of a belt 26 of a stepless speed change gear 10.
