Title:
CONTROL OF STEREOREGULARITY OF RADICAL POLYMERIZATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3773362
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply obtain a polymer having excellent mechanical properties and thermal properties in a controlled stereoregularity of polymer by radical- polymerizing an acrylic monomer in a specific fluorine-containing branched alcohol solvent.
SOLUTION: (B) An acrylic monomer [e.g. (meth)acrylic acid (salt or ester), (meth)acrylamide or (meth)acrylonitrile] is radical-polymerized in (A) a fluorine- containing branched alcohol solvent of the formula [R1 and R2 are each (C1- substituted) fluorinated hydrocarbon group; R3 is H, F, Cl, a hydrocarbon group or a fluorinated hydrocarbon group] having 4-10 pKa (e.g. perfluoro-tert-butanol) so as to control the stereoregularity of polymer.
