PURPOSE: To provide a component mounting machine of a simple structure in which a component and a mounting position can be imaged on the same screen without moving a sucked component and the component can be accurately aligned on the basis of the image.
CONSTITUTION: The controller for a component mounting machine comprises an imaging unit 4 for imaging a component 11 sucked to a suction nozzle 1 and a mounting position 13 from obliquely upward in a state that the nozzle 1 is arrived above the position 13, an image processor 6 for calculating a relative positional deviation of the component 1 to the position 13 based on an image signal from the unit 4, and a control circuit 7 for correcting the position of the component 11 by moving the nozzle 11 in a horizontal plane in response to the calculated positional deviation.
