To prevent a response delay by determining whether a fuel supply condition is changed or not in a torque-down control execution time and advancing control starting and/or finishing timing as against that for a fuel supply condition unchanged time.
In torque-down control in an up-shift gear shift time, a target turbine revolution deviation is set on the basis of a revolution speed before gear shift and a target gear shift time. Then, in an ATCU 40, engine torque is computed on the basis of basis ignition timing and an engine torque characteristic, and on the basis of the engine torque and the target turbine revolution deviation, a torque-down demand quantity is computed. Subsequently, a torque- down is demanded in the ECU 30 when it is determined that an inertia phase is started. In this process, if torque-down control due to a change in a fuel supply condition is carried out, torque-down control starting and/or finishing timing is advanced as against that for a fuel supply condition unchanged time.
