Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transportation unit capable of appropriately controlling timing of processing performed by the transportation unit even when a roller is accompanied by a margin of error in transportation speed.SOLUTION: A transportation unit transporting a medium includes: a roller transporting the medium by rotating; an encoder generating an encoder signal corresponding to a rotation angle of the roller; a timing signal generation section generating a timing signal indicating timing when processing with respect to the medium is performed by using the encoder signal and circumference length information of the roller; and a processing section performing the processing with respect to the medium at the timing indicated by the timing signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
