This cosmetic includes (A) an amphoteric copolymer including a unit expressed by formula I [e.g.; N-(meth)acryloyloxyethyl N,N- dimethylammonium N-methylcarboxylate etc.], and a unit expressed by formula II (R1 is H or methyl; R2 and R5 are each a 1-4C alkylene; R3 and R4 are each a 1-C alkyl; X is oxygen atom or imino group; Y is COO, PHO3 or SO3; R6 is a 1-24C alkyl), having 10,000-500,000 weight average molecular weight and (B) a compound having plural OH groups (e.g.; glycerin or the like), in 3/1-1/5 weight ratio of the component B/component A. The component A optionally includes ≤55 wt.% of other unit such as acrylonitrile or the like.
