Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a cover for an exhaust manifold, able to be very easily manufactured, and having the good sound absorbing efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: A cover for an exhaust manifold is provided with a plate-like body 2 projecting from the side facing the exhaust manifold to the opposite side, and on which many tapered, polygonal pyramid-like or conical projecting parts 5 wherein holes 4 are formed on the top parts are continuously formed, and it is constituted of a flat metallic plate body 3 overlapped on the projecting sides of the plate-like body 2. When the flat metallic plate body 3 is overlapped through an insulating material, not only the insulating effect but also the sound absorbing efficiently can be remarkably improved.
