Abstract:
To provide an occupant protection device which inhibits injury of an occupant.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device protects an occupant seated on a seat 200 having a seat surface 210 which holds a thigh and a hip and a seat back 220 which holds a back part. The occupant protection device includes: a collision precursor detection device which detects a precursor of a collision; seating surface inclining means which inclines the seating surface in a direction such that the hip side lowers in response to detection of the precursor of the collision; seat back inclining means which inclines the seat back in a froward inclination direction; and a chest protection airbag B1 which deploys in an area where at least a part thereof is sandwiched between a chest and the thigh of the occupant after the seating surface and the seat back are inclined.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
