Abstract:
To drive and damp with a valve of an engine by hydraulic pressure of fuel and to prevent failure and noise.
This cross-head type large two-stroke type diesel engine is provided with a plurality of cylinders 1 having exhaust valves 4, respectively, a hydraulic valve actuator 9 related to each of the exhaust valves 4, a common fuel rail, a high pressure fuel source for delivering fuel to the common fuel rail and a fuel injection system operated in connection with the fuel from the common rail. The valve actuator 9 is operated in connection with the fuel from the common rail.
