To improve operating efficiency of a crushing machine and perform an efficient storing of some small crushed pieces in a storing device.
This crushing machine is constructed such that a crushing section for use in crushing some ice blocks is arranged below a lower part of a chute section 20 installed at an inner upper location of a casing 15. Many ice blocks manufactured by an ice making mechanism 16 installed at the upper part of the casing 15 are supplied into the crushing section through the chute 20. A storing tank 18 for storing some small ice pieces crushed at the crushing section is installed at the lower section of the casing 15. The storing tank 18 communicates with the chute 20 through a frame member 25 installed at the upper surface. A cylinder member 12 is rotatably arranged within the frame 25. A plurality of crushed pieces 14 projected in a direction of diameter are arranged at an outer circumferential surface of the cylinder member 12 in an arrangement in which they are formed in an axial helical manner of the cylinder member 12. A helical direction of a group of crushed pieces composed of a plurality of crushed pieces 14 is changed in an opposite direction at an axial central section of the cylinder 12.
