Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition free from visual blur in a coating film, excellent in environment corrosion resistance, compatibility with a base coat, application property of coating material, etc., and suitable for coating an automobile, etc., by compounding a specific polymer resin, a hardener and a low molecular-weight compound containing a carbamate group or a urea group.
SOLUTION: This coating material composition is composed of (A) a polymer resin [e.g. (meth)acrylic acid ester polymer] containing a carbamic ester functional group, (B) a hardener (e.g. an aminoplast such as a melamine formaldehyde resin) having a group reactive with the functional group of the component A and (C) a compound (e.g. a hydroxyalkyl mono or polycarbamate) having a molecular weight of 75-2000 and containing a group of the formula (X is O or NH; R is H or a 1-4C alkyl such as methyl), wherein either or both of the component A and the component B contain groups reactive with the group of the formula of the component C.
