PURPOSE: To reduce the heat value of an object being measured by increasing the feed current for the object gradually to a given value according to the response speed of a potential difference measuring apparatus and minimizing the time needed for feeding after the given value has been reached.
CONSTITUTION: The moving speed of a moving contact 9 of a switch 8 having resistors is controlled according to the response characteristics of a potential difference measuring appratus 1 so that the current to flow through an object 3 being measured is gradually increased to a given value according to the response speed of the potential difference measuring apparatus 1. After the current has reached the given value, the time needed for passing the current through the object 3 is minimized.
