To obtain a charging/discharging current measuring apparatus for an electric double-layer capacitor capable of measuring the current to/from an electric double-layer capacitor in real time with a simple circuit constitution and high efficiency.
This charging/discharging current measuring apparatus for an electrical double-layer capacitor comprises a series circuit composed of a second capacitor and an external resistor 3 and connected in parallel with the electric double-layer capacitor 1, and a voltage measuring means. The time constant constituted by the electric double-layer capacitor 1 and the internal resistance of the electric double-layer capacitor 1, and the time constant by the second capacitor 2 and the sum of the internal resistance of the second capacitor 2 and the external resistor 3, are almost the same, and the capacitance of the second capacitor 2 is 1/n times the capacitance of the electrical double-layer capacitor 1, while the sum of the internal resistance of the second capacitor 2 and the resistance of the external resistor 3 is n times the resistance of the electrical double-layer capacitor. By measuring the voltage across the external resistor and providing a unit that can convert the voltage to the current, the charging/discharging current of the electric double-layer capacitor can be measured.
