To provide a method capable of uniformly heating the whole body of a cylinder block with a simple configuration and easily and surely stabilizing the the dimension of the cylinder block.
In the method for stabilizing the dimension of the cylinder block 1 by applying an aging treatment to the cylinder block 1 obtained by inserting a cylinder liner 11 with an aluminum alloy 12, a high frequency induction heating coil 2 is inserted into a bore part 10 in the cylinder block 1, then the high frequency induction heating is applied to the cylinder block 1 through the cylinder liner 11, and simultaneously the tool 5 for suppressing the temperature rising is allowed to abut on a portion 10 of the cylinder block 1 the temperature at which is easily raised by the high frequency induction heating.
