PURPOSE: To provide a damping device for a structure of which the cost is low without spoiling the beautiful appearance and the construction is relatively light-weighted and economical.

CONSTITUTION: This damping device is provided with a yoked duct 3 which is additionally provided on a structure 1, introduces wind applied on the inlet of the front end, contracts flow in the middle part, and discharges the flow from the yoked outlet of the rear end, a gate 5 which is additionally provided on the yoked part of the yoked duct 3, and changes the blow off direction of the contracted wind so as to restrain vibration of the structure, and a controller to control the gate 5 based on the signal of a sensor detecting vibration of the structure 1.
