Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve compression performance by dividing respective languages or the respective kinds of the characters of different statistical properties within the respective languages and compressing them for a unicode or the like for instance for which the different languages coexist.
SOLUTION: For compression, after separating a data string into language strings for the respective languages discriminated in a language discrimination means 10 in a language string separation means 12, they are compressed in a language string compression means 14. For restoration, from the respective language strings restored in a language string restoration means 20, the data string where the plural kinds of language codes coexist is restored by a language string reconstitution means 22. In the case of Japanese source data, division for each different byte constitution or the division for each character kind inside the code is performed and the compression and the restoration are performed. Further, the compression and the restoration can be performed by unifying the byte constitution.
