PURPOSE: To lower vibration and noise and to enable smooth depilation by rotating two spiral blades while attaching and detaching these blades.

CONSTITUTION: This depilator instantaneously changes the rotating speeds of the plural spiral blades 2 in order to open and close these spiral blades 2. The depilator having the two spiral blades 2 rotates the one spiral blade 2 at a specified speed and varies the rotating speed of the other spiral blade 2. Namely, the instantaneous speeds of the one or both spiral blades 2 are changed in such manner that the two spiral blades 2 rotate relative to each other although the mean speeds thereof are the same. A rotational driving means 3 which rotationally drives the two spiral blades 2 drives pulleys 8 fixed to the spiral blades 2 by means of a belt 9. The pulley 8 fixed to the one spiral blade 2 is directly connected via the belt 9 to a driving shaft 12. The pulley 8 fixed to the other spiral blade 2 is connected via the belt 9 and an elliptic gear 11 to the driving shaft. This elliptic gear 11 pulsates the rotating speed of the spiral blade 2 by increasing or decreasing the rotating speed.
