To obtain an excellent detergent composition having high foaming properties, clear fluidity and creamy foaming, exhibiting excellent detergency and affording a refreshed touch, an excellent feeling of use without a tense feeling of the skin after washing and having all the performances of the high foaming properties and clear fluidity even after storing at 50°C for 1 month.

This detergent composition is characterized as follows. An N-acylaspartic acid or its salt is contained and the lowering of foaming power is ≤10% and the lowering of transmittance (T430 nm) is ≤10% after storing at 50°C for 30 days.
