Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a device for coping with the flat tire on an vehicle that safety countermeasures can be taken if tire inflation pressure drops suddenly.
SOLUTION: The wheel speed of wheels 2L, 2R, 3L, 3R is detected by wheel speed detecting sensors 55 to 58, while the steering state of a steering wheel 8 is detected by a steering angle sensor 59. In addition, the yaw rate which occurs in the vehicle is detected by a yaw rate sensor 63. When a controller 65 detects that the quantity of state of one wheel is differs from that of the rest of the wheels by more than a prescribed quantity and moreover that the yaw rate which is detected at this time exceeds the reference value corresponding to the steering state at that time, the controller 65 judges that the tire in consideration is punctured and actuates a braking device so as to execute automatic braking.
