Title:
DEVICE FOR DISCRIMINATING USE CONDITION OF OPTICAL CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03276107
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To recognize the use condition of optical circuits in real time and to prevent the erroneous cutting of the currently used circuits by providing a branch part for light signals in a part of an optical waveguide and operating a recognition display section by branched light. CONSTITUTION:The light signal guided in an optical fiber 20 is partly branched in the optical branching part 30 to a port 31 side. The branched light progresses in a direction A3 and an IR photosensitive body in a photodetection recognizing section 41 is irradiated with the branched light. Then, the photosensitive body emits light and the propagation of the light signal in the arrow A1 direction is confirmed. The photodetection recognizing section 42 emits light when the optical fiber 20 propagates the light signal in an arrow B1 direction. A bidirectional communication state is recognized when both of the photodetection recognizing sections 41, 42 emit light. Neither of the recognizing sections 41, 42 emit light at the time of the non-currently used circuit. The accident of erroneous cutting the optical fiber during use is, therefore, prevented.
