Abstract:
To provide a device/method for controlling the power source of a welder which prevents flickering by averaging the energizing current of seam welding,
The device is provided with a boosting chopper 14 with current control which inputs an AC power source 1, a capacitor 3 to be charged by this chopper 14, and inverter 4 for converting the charging voltage of this capacitor 3 to AC and a transformer 5 for giving an output from this inverter 4 to a welding electrode 7. A control system controls the device to turn on electricity from the AC power source 1 and the capacitor 3 to the welding electrode 7 during welding and charges the capacitor 3 during welding suspension.
