To provide a device and a method for generating an optimal OS by considering the class of a task to be used for an application.
In a definition file 1, information for discriminating the task class is defined. An analytic means 2 analyzes to which one of three kinds of task switching source files 7a, 7b and 7c the contents of the definition file 1 correspond and reports the result to a selecting means 3. The selecting means 3 reports a file name corresponding to the analyzed result to a coupling means 4. The coupling means 4 couples any one of three kinds of task switching source files 7a, 7b and 7c and an OS main source file 5 and generates an OS file 6 of execute form. Thus, the OS provided with an optimal task switching function can be generated.
