Abstract:
To provide a disconnection detection method and a disconnection detection device that can detect with high sensitivity that disconnection has occurred in a conductor.SOLUTION: A method for detecting disconnection of strands of a cable 10 having a conductor 11a composed of a stranded conductor obtained by twisting the plurality of strands, includes: making the cable 10 into a state of being bent in a U-shape, and performing a U-shape bending motion of periodically sliding one end of the cable 10 along a cable longitudinal direction of the one end with a predetermined stroke; measuring a resistance value of the conductor 11a, which changes in time series due to the U-shape bending motion; using a frequency corresponding to a cycle of the U-shape bending motion as an operating frequency, and extracting a resistance value fluctuation component of the operating frequency included in the time-series change in the resistance value of the conductor 11a; and detecting disconnection of the strands based on magnitude of the extracted resistance value fluctuation component of the operating frequency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
